When you access this website, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the terms described below.

 

Contract, Payment and Delivery

All payment for orders accepted by Smith's Bookshop are to be made in New Zealand currency and any contract arising from this site is governed by the laws of New Zealand. Delivery charges within New Zealand will be calculated for each order and shown as a separate item before you choose to enter your payment details and send the order to be processed. Delivery will be by courier or by any delivery service as chosen by Smith's Bookshop.  Postal charges within New Zealand  are detailed on our website at https://smithsbookshop.co.nz/pages/4542-HOWTOBUYBOOKS

 

We endeavour to send out orders within 3 days and parcels are generally received within a week.   Overseas postage is subject to quotation by email once your order is placed.  You can then decide to cancel your order if you are not satisfied with the postal charges.  Arrival time of International Orders depends on destination and postage options usually within 20 working days. Tracking is used on all orders.

 

Product Availability

Products may be added to or removed from this site from time to time and from time to time products listed on the site may not be available. While Smith's Bookshop does not accept liability for any loss arising, every effort will be made to keep the information up to date and accurate.

 

Orders, Price and Payment

Products may be ordered by following the instructions on Purchase Cart Screen on this website. All prices quoted include Goods and Services Tax. Prices may increase or decrease from time to time.

You must pay by Paypal, cash (in store), credit or debit card. Your card details are delivered immediately to a secure ecommerce server and our bank immediately debits your card for the cost of the items ordered and for delivery.

 

Foreign Taxes, Duties and Import Restrictions

If you are not in New Zealand, we have no knowledge of and no responsibility for the laws in your country.

You are responsible for purchasing goods that you are lawfully able to import and for the payment of import duties and taxes of any kind levied in your country

Collect in Store

Orders must be collected within 14 days from the date you are notified by email that your order is ready for collection. If your order is not collected within this time, your order will be cancelled.  Smith's Bookshop  may then allocate those Goods to another customer and your refund will be credited to the card you used for your order, less any administration fee payable.

You acknowledge that we may record the details of any identification provided in relation to collection of products.

Offer and Acceptance of Order

When you place an order with us, you are making an offer to buy goods. This occurs when you place your order on our website via adding a product to the shopping cart and proceeding through our checkout process. The checkout process includes giving us delivery and any other relevant details for your order, including entering payment information and submitting your order. The final step consists of a confirmation page with full details of your order, which you are able to print as a receipt of your order.

We will send you an email to confirm that we have received and accepted your order, which indicates that your order has been accepted and you may not cancel it.

We will take payment from you when we accept your order.

 

Cancellation and Product Return

You may cancel an order without charge at any time up to the dispatch of goods to your address. Any charge to your credit card will be credited.

All of our new books should reach you in perfect condition, if for any reason you are dissatisfied with the condition of the book you have received (new or secondhand) you may return it, within 7 days, for a full refund of the purchase price, less the cost of handling and delivery costs, once the product has been received by us

While we try to ensure that the price and description of goods or services is accurate, from time to time there may be an error with listing a product on our website or a technical error in the processing of your order.  We reserve the right to refuse or cancel the order.  Our right to cancel orders applies to orders that have been accepted.

To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all liability to you or anyone else for loss or damage of any kind (however caused or arising) relating in any way to the website including, but not limited to, loss or damage you might suffer as a result of:
