This is the story of the first thirty years of Papua New Guinea's first brewing company that began during the Australian colonial era.  South Pacific Brewery was established in 1951 to produce beer to satisfy the thirsts of Australian colonialists, at a time when Papua New Gunieans were forbidden by law, to drink liquor.


A sociological study that should be read by all students of modern Papua New Guinea history, and those who are interested in the welfare of all Papua New Guineans.
