Since 1858 sheep and cattle have been raised on Patearoa Station on the Maniototo Plain in Central Otago. In the 19th century the sprawling 75,000-acre property was  run by larger-than-life figures, including politicians and some of New Zealand's richest men.

This book tells the 152-year story of Patearoa Station and the dozens who have lived there and the hundreds who have worked there.
