Floods in New Zealand 1920-53

used

NZ Natural History | Secondhand

Describes the floods that have occurred in New Zealand between 1920 and 1953 and provides a ready reference to those who are concerened with the effects of flooding. Most of the technical flood data have been abstracted from departmental reports found in around 2000 files, from the comprehensive flood reports which most catchment boards now compile, from files of the Evening Post and other newspapers, and from the Parliamentary Library. It sets out all the known flood data of New Zealand with the aim that it will be of use to all engineers working on hydraulic problems and will also provide an incentive to them to collect in the future as much flood information as possible.

Illustrated with monochrome images and b/w maps.
